Turn a TradingView strategy into an MT5 Expert Advisor
Your Pine strategy backtests well, but TradingView cannot trade it for you on MetaTrader. I turn it into an MT5 Expert Advisor that trades automatically, add the risk controls a live account needs, and test it on your broker’s tick data before you go live.

What the EA adds that the Pine strategy did not have.
A backtest can be loose about execution. A live account cannot.
- Position sizing by risk: lots calculated from the stop distance and the percentage you choose.
- Spread and slippage handling: a maximum spread filter and a slippage limit on entries.
- Daily loss and drawdown guards, matched to your prop firm if you have one.
- Session and news filters, so it does not trade the moments you would avoid by hand.
- Restart safety: the EA rebuilds its state after a terminal or VPS restart.
- Broker handling: symbol names, digits, stops levels and filling modes detected automatically.
Three checks, in this order.

Reconciliation against TradingView
Same symbol, same timeframe, same period: the EA’s signals compared with the Pine strategy’s, trade by trade.
- 02
Tick-data backtest on MT5
The EA tested on your broker’s real ticks with spread and commission, which is usually less flattering than TradingView.
- 03
Demo forward test
A week or two on a demo account at your broker, to confirm live behaviour matches the test.
Common questions
Do I need to keep TradingView after the conversion?
Not with a native EA. The strategy runs entirely on MetaTrader. You only need TradingView for the alert-bridge route, which I recommend only when the strategy depends on data MetaTrader does not have.
Will it work on a prop firm account?
Yes, with the daily loss and drawdown guard set to your firm’s rules. See prop-firm EA development.
My strategy uses pyramiding or several entries. Is that a problem?
No. Multiple entries map onto MT5 hedging accounts directly. On netting accounts they become additions to one position, and we decide together how exits should behave.
Why does the MT5 backtest look worse than TradingView?
Usually because it includes real spreads, commission and fills at the live price. That number is closer to what you will actually get, which is the point of testing it.
Tell me the strategy. I’ll tell you what it takes.
Fifteen minutes, no pitch. Mutual NDA before you describe anything you care about. You get an honest view of feasibility, timeline and price, even if the answer is “don’t build this”.
