Strategy conversion between TradingView, MT4 and MT5
A conversion is only useful if the new version trades like the old one. I rebuild the logic for the target platform, then reconcile signals and trades against the original so you can see where they match and why they differ.

Five reasons a straight port does not match.
- 01
Bar indexing
Pine counts back from the current bar. MQL arrays can run in either direction. One off-by-one error moves every signal by a bar.
- 02
Order execution
Pine strategies fill at the next bar’s open by default and ignore spread unless told otherwise. An EA trades at the live bid and ask.
- 03
Data feeds
TradingView’s prices, session times and daily candles often differ from your broker’s, so signals near a threshold can disagree.
- 04
Warm-up and initial values
Indicators start differently on each platform, so the first bars of an average or oscillator can disagree until they settle.
- 05
Higher-timeframe data
request.security() with the wrong lookahead can show values that were not known yet. Converted naively, the EA inherits the problem or loses the edge.
How I prove the conversion is faithful.
- Same data, same bars: indicator values compared on hundreds of bars of the same symbol and timeframe.
- Trade list reconciliation: entries and exits matched one by one, with every difference explained.
- Platform differences written down: what cannot match exactly, and why it does not matter (or does).
- A tick-data test on the target platform, so you see results with real spreads before going live.
Common questions
Will the results match the original exactly?
Signals on the same data should match bar for bar. Backtest totals rarely match exactly, because the platforms use different data feeds, spreads and fill rules. You get a reconciliation that shows each difference and its cause.
Can you convert a protected or invite-only script?
Only if you can share the source code. I cannot convert closed-source scripts. If the logic is yours, we can rebuild it from your description instead.
Which direction can you convert?
Pine Script to MQL4/MQL5, MQL4 to MQL5, and MQL to Pine Script for indicators. Python ports of any of these are also possible.
Tell me the strategy. I’ll tell you what it takes.
Fifteen minutes, no pitch. Mutual NDA before you describe anything you care about. You get an honest view of feasibility, timeline and price, even if the answer is “don’t build this”.
